Gillian Quinn at Ladies Lets Get Styled in aid of Nurture

Gillian Quinn has had a busy and varied career as a pilates instructor, model, TV presenter & producer, and as a ‘Celebrity Bainisteoir’ contestant, wife since 1992 of Sunderland Chairman and former Irish international player Niall Quinn and mum to Aisling and Michael.

Gillian is also studying Psychology as well as working on various modelling assignments. Gillian is huge lover of animals and a keen horse rider who takes part in dressage.

Gillian Roe, as she was called before she got married, has three well-known older sisters, Valerie Roe, Patricia Roe and Bernie Cafolla, and a younger brother Philip, is originally from Rathfarnham in Dublin and now lives in Naas.

Gillian has a long history of philanthropic work and we are delighted to have her on board as a Nurture Ambassador. Gillian organised the fantastic”Ladies Lets Get Styled! event in aid of Nurture on 23rd October 2014 in Lawlors Hotel with the support of her family and friends.

 

Elsa Jones

elsa-jones-nurture-ambassadorElsa Jones is a Qualified Nutritionist, Radio & TV Broadcaster, Columnist and mother to one gorgeous son. She works as a consultant nutritionist in two GP clinics in Dublin as well as teaching group courses in nutrition and weight management.

Elsa presents a regular nutrition slot on the ‘Today Show’ on RTE 1 where she educates viewers on how their every day health concerns can be addressed using food as medicine. Elsa has also appeared as a nutrition expert on RTÉ’s agricultural series, Ear To The Ground. Elsa is a regular contributor to Newstalk Radio where she chats about a variety of health topics and answers listener’s diet related queries. She has also contributed as a health expert on 4FM, Spin 1038, East Coast Radio and Sunshine FM.

Elsa produced and presented the popular health series How Healthy Are You? which broadcast on TV3 in 2010 & 2011. The series tackled all aspects of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. As well as presenting the series, Elsa was also behind the concept of the series itself which arose out of her desire to bring common health issues to Irish consciousness and was produced by her production company Blind Faith Productions Ltd.

As a health writer, Elsa writes regularly for the Irish Independent and Herald newspapers, Woman’s Way, TV Now and Irish Parent magazines. Her feature articles cover a variety of health issues from nutrition and weight management to insomnia and fertility.

Bill Vaughan

Bill VaughanBill has been working in the Mental Health sector for thirteen years. He is a qualified counsellor and has worked in various locations including a treatment centre; a prison; a family assessment centre and community services. Bill currently works with Mental Health Ireland as Development Officer in County Donegal. His role is to promote positive mental health throughout the county. He supports local volunteers in Mental Health Associations; delivers health promoting programmes to communities, schools and businesses. From his own experience Bill feels that more could be done to help people experiencing anxiety and depression.

Bill is originally from Banbridge in Co Down and has been living in Letterkenny for many years. He is married and has three boys – one at third level, one at secondary and one at primary. Bill loves most sports and likes to keep “middle age” at bay with the odd run or swim. He also enjoys a bit of light drama and singing. He was delighted to be asked to become an Ambassador for Nurture and help raise awareness about postnatal depression and develop a network of support for these women and their families.  Bill is our ambassador for Nurture in Donegal.
